KARACHI, Feb 4: The World Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) has offered its membership to the Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame). After getting the WASME membership the Unisame will be in a position to interact with its members spread around 112 countries.

The WASME members benefit from each other by sharing information and studies required for rapid development of the sector and this will help Unisame to broaden its outlook to be better placed to serve the interest of SMEs.

Unisame is striving hard to develop products for SMEs in banking, leasing, insurance, product development, venture capital, transfer of technology, human resource and employment creation. Therefore, any assistance from local and foreign agencies is welcomed by its members.

WASME founded in 1980 in New Delhi, has emerged as the largest professionally managed global non-government organization with members all over the world.

After the improvement in the relations between India and Pakistan it was very important that Unisame and WASME should keep close and mutual relationship for the development of the SME sector. Unisame members could benefit from WASME which is UN recognised body, convener of the Unisame Zulfikar Thaver said.
