KARACHI, Jan 10: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mahar has banned the transportation of meat in various cities, particularly Karachi, through open trucks.
In a directive, the chief minister said that meat should be transported from slaughter houses to the market properly covered as per hygienic principles. He directed the police to fully implement these instructions so that people could be supplied contamination-free meat.
Mr Mahar directed the concerned authorities, DCOs and traffic police to confiscate such trailers and trucks, which carry containers and other heavy cargo improperly.
He took notice of several such incidents in which untied heavy cargo had fallen down from trucks and trailers causing damage to life and property of general public.
The chief minister issued strict instructions to authorities to take necessary steps in this regard so that such incidents are not allowed to recur. -APP
