SHIKARPUR, May 31: A truck driver, Mir Akram, was killed on the spot, while three passengers of a pick-up identified as Jameel, Gulzada and Dilawar received serious injuries when a truck (K-1912) collided with the pick-up (QAG-8254) on Shikarpur- Kandhkot road on Thursday.

The Khanpur police have registered a case.

KILLED: One villager, Ahmed Ali Bakhirani, was killed by his rivals when he was working at his field on Thursday.

DEMOLISHED: About 40 pucca houses of dwellers in the Railway Colony, Shikarpur, were demolished by the railway authorities here on Thursday.

The affected dwellers claimed that the railway authorities took this action without prior notice.

A heavy contingent of railway police rushed to the Railway Colony and with the help of hundreds of railway labour demolished the houses.
