Indonesia calls for restraint

JAKARATA, May 31: Indonesia on Friday urged India and Pakistan to exercise self-restraint and seek a peaceful solution through diplomatic channels in line with the principles of the United Nations charter.

“Indonesia is deeply concerned about the worsening situation near the India-Pakistan border,” spokesman for the foreign affairs ministry, Marty Natalegawa, told a press briefing. Rising tension will only increase the number of victims and the risk of ruining the two countries, he said.—APP
