KARACHI, Feb 28: Javedan Cement earns a record net profit of Rs103.861 million in July-December 2004, as against Rs26.952 million in the corresponding period last year.
Better performance is attributed to increased production, reduction in production cost and better sale policy of the company.
During the period under review, the company had produced 195,117 tons of clinker, which is 44,871 tons or 29.86 per cent more than the same period last year. Reasons of increase in production is due to better run factor of the plant, strict compliance of maintenance schedule planned for the year 2004-05 and better production planning.
The cement production stood at 214,943 tons, which is 16,118 tons or 8.10 per cent more as compared to the same period last year. Similarly, the company was able to sell 215,200 tons of cement, which is 11,779 tons or 5.79 per cent more as compared to same period last year.
During the period under review, the company earned a net profit of Rs103.861 million against Rs26.952 million for same period last year. This was achieved by keeping strict control on all non-productive expenses, higher efficiency and higher run factor for the plant and increase in production and sales.
