SIALKOT: Plan to install radars

SIALKOT, Feb 18: The federal government has approved a plan for installing ultramodern radars in the district at a cost Rs200 million.

Sialkot DCO Syed Tahir Raza Naqvi told newsmen on Friday that the radars would help forecast weather of 300 kilometres, including the neighbouring Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

PATROLLING: The army, paramilitary staff, police and the Elite Force on Friday continued patrolling sensitive urban and rural places in the district to ensure law and order.

The district police have been put on high alert and security of all the mosques, imambargahs, other places of worship and hotels, besides routes to Zuljinah processions, has been enhanced.

As many as 1,255 majalis will be held and 155 processions taken out in Sialkot during Muharram. DCO Syed Tahir Raza Naqvi told newsmen that the district would be sealed on 9th and 10th of Muharram by the law-enforcing agencies.
