‘Nancy Drew’ creator dies

CLEVELAND, May 29: Mildred Wirt Benson, the creator of the “Nancy Drew” mystery series, died late Tuesday in a hospital in Ohio. She was 96.

Benson won international acclaim for her books, which documented the exploits of plucky teenage sleuth Nancy Drew — an inspiration for young women the world over.—AFP
