KARACHI, Jan 12: Balochistan National Party chief, Sardar Akhtar Mengal said on Wednesday that the killing of Baloch leader Anwar Bhaijan, was a conspiracy against the Baloch people in Karachi.

Accusing the government of criminal negligence, the BNP leader said had the government been serious from the very beginning, this incident would have not occurred. This clearly showed that the government wanted to create a situation where one Baloch was pitted against another, he added.

Sardar Mengal said it was no secret that a gang war between two criminal groups had been raging for more than year, but the government had never taken any effective measures to nab the criminals.

He was talking to the leaders of Baloch Ittehad Tehrik at the central office of the BIT where he went to condole the death of the slain leader. The BNP leader was accompanied by Balochistan MPA Akhtar Lango and central committee member Hameed Sajna Baloch.

Present on the occasion were the son of the slain leader Shezad Anwar, BIT chief Hanif Baloch, Sorab Baloch, Arif Baloch and Abid Brohi. Paying his tributes to the slain leader, Sardar Mengal said that the BIT founder had rendered great services for Baloch people and his services would always be remembered for ever.

He told the people that a conspiracy had been hatched against Baloch people by inimical forces to destroy them by engaging them in fratricidal fighting and urged them to unite to foil their evil designs.
