KARACHI, Dec 31: Academic session 2005 will commence on Saturday (Jan 1) at University of Karachi with the holding of bachelors and masters classes at various departments of the varsity.
KU VC Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui in his message to the new entrants on the commencement of new academic year, said friendly attitude, concentration on studies, observance of discipline, broad vision and tolerance be significant features of their personality.
Referring to the increasing anxiety and restlessness in national and international perspectives, he said it was imperative upon them to carefully watch the scenario and trends of circumstances. Wishing them all success, the VC KU prayed that they could prove a pleasant addition to the reputation of KU.
COLLEGE ADMISSIONS: The KU has announced that admissions to degree classes will commence on Jan 1 with the issuance of admission forms for admissions to BA, BSc, BCom (Pass), and BSc (Home Economics) in KU-affiliated degree colleges. The admission forms would be received till Jan 31 without any late fee.
A late fee of Rs 500 will be charged till Feb 12 and Rs 1000 till Feb 26. Enrolment forms will be accepted till March 11 without any late fee, till April 2 with Rs500 late fee and till April 9 with Rs1000 late fee. First year classes in degree colleges will commence on Feb 1 after the finalization of admission process.
CLASSES: Orientation classes for the newly-admitted students of BA (honours) first year and MA (previous) at the department of sociology, University of Karachi, on Jan 1 at 9.30 at Room No 810, Department of Sociology. -PPI
PHYSIOTHERAPY EXAM: The KU has announced the schedule of BS (physiotherapy) third year supplementary examination-2004. The exams would commence on Jan 17 at the Islamic Learning Department of the KU between 2pm and 5pm.
The practical examination of physiotherapy treatment would be held on Feb 7 at the School of Physiotherapy while practical examination of electrotherapy on Feb 9 at the same place at 9.30am. -PPI
