KARACHI, Dec 13: The City District Government Karachi will redesign the plan of a proposed flyover at Hassan Square and get it approved by the competent authority.

This was decided here on Monday in a meeting, presided over by Sindh Chief Secretary, Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani.

Vice-Chairman, Export Promotion Bureau, Abid Javed Akbar, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, DCO Fazlur Rehman, EPB Director-General Syed Wajid Ali, Director, Communication EPB, Ali Ahmed Lound, DIG Karachi Zafar Ahmed Farooqui and others were present in the meeting.

They discussed matters regarding arrangements for the Pakistan Expo-2005, scheduled from Feb 2 to 5, 2005 and the cooperation of various Sindh government departments.

It was decided in the meeting that as per the request of EPB regarding the re-designing of the proposed Hassan Square fly-over, the city government would prepare a plan by taking into account the EPB request of constructing a ramp.

After the approval of this redesigned plan by the authorities, a ramp will be constructed to directly connect the flyover with the Expo Center. The EBP will bear the cost of this ramp, by which vehicles of all Expo Centre visitors would smoothly reach the centre. -PPI
