LAHORE, Dec 13: The students of School of Physiotherapy, Mayo Hospital, on Monday staged a demonstration in front of the Punjab civil secretariat against the non-availability of a regular principal for the last one year.

The students were carrying banners and placards bearing inscriptions that the school management had failed to solve students' problems and impart quality education. Speaking on the occasion, the students said the principal's slot had fallen vacant on Dec 8 last year and was yet to be filled with a regular principal.

They alleged that the school's interim administration was not interested in solving students' problems. They alleged that the administration also victimized several students in the BSc physiotherapy examinations.

As fresh admissions to first-year classes have been started, the students apprehended that the interim administration would complete the process without taking care of the merit.

They alleged that the administration had also admitted students while bypassing the merit last year. The students demanded that the Punjab government should appoint a regular principal at the earliest and monitor the first-year admission process.
