KARACHI, Nov 12: The US and Israel have unleashed unparalleled terrorism, oppression, plunder and killings against the Muslims , and the champions of human rights are using modern weaponry for massacre of innocent people.

Deploring the attitude of Israel for denying burial to the body of veteran Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in Jerusalem, central leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and deputy chief of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Prof Ghafoor Ahmad termed it sheer injustice and a condemnable act.

He was speaking at a rally, held in connection with Al-Quds day, after the Friday prayers outside Jamia Binnori Town Mosque. The rally was also addressed by Allama Hasan Turabi, Hafiz Taqui, Shaikh Rafique, Nasrullah Shaji, Shabbir Abu Talib and others.

The participants were holding banners and placards with slogans expressing solidarity with the Muslims of Palestine and condemning the US, Israel and their other allies, besides pro-US rulers in the Muslim countries. The participants also raised slogans.

Prof Ghafoor, accusing the US of patronizing Israel and India in Palestine and Kashmir respectively, said it was striving to eliminate Muslims. The US had brutally pounded Iraq and Afghanistan but the day was not far when the US and its allies would fail and Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and Kashmir would be liberated from occupation forces, he added.

Allama Hasan Turabi, condemning the pro-US rulers of the Muslim countries said they were responsible for the plight of the Muslims world over. Actual decisions were made not in Islamabad but in Washington, he added.

Hafiz Muhammad Taqui said the time had come to depose the 'US lackeys' and people should pledge to continue their struggle against the USA and its puppet rulers. Nasrullah Shaji said that Iraq and Afghanistan would prove graveyards for the US.

Meanwhile, the Imamia Students Organization also took out a rally from Old Numaish to Regal Chowk, which was led by Nasir Abbas Shirazi, besides ulema from different organizations.

The participants of the rally were raising slogans expressing solidarity with Palestinian resistance groups, Hammas, Jehad Islami and Hizbullah. Speaking at the rally, Mr Shirazi said that Palestine and Iraq issues could only be resolved by waging Jehad and not through negotiations.

Allama Maqsood Domki, Allama Aftab Haider, Maulana Mirza Yusuf Hussain, Maulana Shabbir Saimi, Allama Furqan Haider Abidi and Maulana Baqir Zaidi also spoke on the occasion, calling upon the Muslims to unite and raise their collective voice against the US atrocities in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine, and to strive for liberation of Al-Quds. They also demanded that the government should record its protest over massacre in Palestine.

In one of the resolutions adopted at the rally, complete solidarity was expressed with oppressed Palestinians. In other resolutions, the US attempt to impose puppet leadership on Palestinian people was condemned and it was declared that real leaders of Palestine were Hammas and Hizbullah.

The resolution also condemned unleashing of brutal oppression in Iraq by the US forces. It also accused Pakistani government of sabotaging Al-Quds rallies elsewhere in the country.
