Ghee makers call off strike

ISLAMABAD, Sept 29: Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) has called off its strike planned from October 4 after getting assurances from the tax authorities to meet their demands.

The decision was taken in a meeting of PVMA delegation with CBR Chairman M. Abdullah Yousuf here on Wednesday. Following the meeting, the association announced that all the member units of Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association engaged in the manufacture of vegetable ghee/cooking oil have been advised to continue the operational activities of their units without any disruption.
