ISLAMABAD Sept 8: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Wednesday submitted two adjournment motions in the National Assembly Secretariat, seeking debate on the formation of largest federal cabinet in country's history and extra-judicial killings in police custody.

The religious alliance has described the over 60 members federal cabinet as the biggest and said it would put a huge burden on the already fragile national exchequer besides exposing government's tall claims of good governance.

It further said the cabinet formation was creating unrest among the people against parliament for, in their view, in a country where people were forced to commit suicide due to non-availability of basic human needs there was no room for the formation of such a massive cabinet.

The MMA, through a second adjournment motion, has sought to discuss law and order situation in the country which, it said, was the worst as police and secret agencies were carrying out raids on residences of the people in complete violation of fundamental human rights. Besides, it said, the people had been subjected to extra-judicial killings for the last few months.

The adjournment motions said that the people of Pakistan felt insecure due to this attitude of police and secret agencies and they had started abhorring law-enforcement agencies of the country. The MMA demanded that such activities must to be stopped forthwith.

Both adjournment motions have been signed by MNAs Liaqat Baloch, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Fareed Paracha, Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, Dr Farida Ahmed, Samia Raheel Qazi, Muhammad Laeeq Khan, Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, Asadullah Bhutto, Abdus Sattar Afghani, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Muhammad Usman advocate.
