Bosnian president in city

KARACHI, Aug 24: President of Bosnia-Herzegovina Sulejman Tihic, who arrived here in the small hours of Tuesday, paid a visit to the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah on Tuesday morning.

President Sulejman Tihic laid a wreath at the Quaid's Mazar and offered fateha. On the occasion, Sindh Minister Ali Bakhsh Shah accompanied the Bosnian president. Later, President Sulejman while recording his impressions in the visitor's book described the Quaid-i-Azam as a great leader of Asia who carved out a separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia. He said that Pakistan is a very important state for the Muslim Ummah.

He paid tribute to the Quaid-i-Azam on his and on behalf of his country and nation and prayed for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

President Sulejman was accompanied by members of his entourage, the ambassador and the consul-general of Bosnia. Earlier, on arrival at the airport, President Sulejman was given a warm welcome by Minister Syed Ali Bakhsh Shah, Bosnian ambassador and high officials. - APP
