GENEVA, Aug 19: The mother and companion of Sergio Vieira de Mello, a top official who was killed in the suicide attack on the UN headquarters in Baghdad a year ago, demanded more details on Thursday about the Brazilian's death.
After a ceremony in Geneva to mark the first anniversary of the bombing, Gilda Vieira de Mello told reporters that neither of the two death certificates she had received "is valid in Brazil because it does not give evidence about how he died and there are omissions and modifications".
She claimed that she had not received any papers to show an autopsy had been performed or been given the exact cause of her son's death. -AFP
