MANCHESTER, Aug 13: Play on the second day of the third Test between England and West Indies at Old Trafford here on Friday was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of rain.

It was the first time a whole day had been washed out in an Old Trafford Test since July 3, 1992, the second day of the drawn third Test between England and Pakistan. -AFP
