QUETTA, Aug 10: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf has said that army action was launched against terrorists in Makran on the request of the district government.

Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday he said that the district nazim from Kech had sought the help of the Frontier Corps and other law enforcement agencies to stop the continuous rocket attacks and bomb blasts, and elimination of terrorist training camps in the area.

He said that the district government itself launched the operation against saboteurs after the rocket attacks and bomb blasts had increased, but owing to limited resources it could not succeeded in eliminating them.

The chief minister said that the district nazim from Gwadar also made a similar request to the provincial government. "We have taken action on the request of the district nazims of both the districts of Makran," he said.

He said the government will take strict action against those elements who were involved in such activities and no pressure would be accepted in this regard. "The network of saboteurs would be eliminated at all cost," Jam Yousuf said.
