KOLKATA, Aug 6: Indian Cricket Board is believed to have taken exception to selection committee chairman Syed Kirmani's adverse comments against skipper Sourav Ganguly following the team's debacle in final of Asia Cricket Cup in Sri Lanka.

BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya met five national selectors during day prior to panel's deliberations to name squads for forthcoming one-day tournaments including ICC Champions Trophy in England.

Dalmiya, however, refused to make public the board's views on Kirmani's comments saying it was internal matter of BCCI and "not for the press". But reliable sources said it was made abundantly clear to Kirmani the comments which he made were uncalled for.

Kirmani had blamed arbitrary changes made in batting order as one of the main reasons for the team's 25-run loss to hosts last Sunday. Kirmani had said Rahul Dravid or V V S Laxman should have come in at number three, instead of Ganguly, who, he said, seemed to be experimenting.

Dalmiya declined to disclose what discussions he had with Ganguly and Wright. "Let us leave something for future now. The issues discussed today have to be put before working committee," he said. -PPI
