KARACHI, Aug 4: A committee of the Sindh Cabinet here on Wednesday recommended auction of a 75-acre piece of land in Gadap through the Sindh Privatization Commission.
The committee, which met under the chairmanship of senior finance minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, recommended that this land be divided into pieces of 15 acres each so that the Board of Revenue could earn more revenue and people too could purchase it easily.
The minister directed the members to contact the ex-Justice Abdul Rehman so that the price of land could be assessed. Syed Sardar Ahmed said that an advertisement be also released regarding privatization of this land.
The committee approved the case of purchase of 400 yards land by one Latifa Khatoon who had also deposited the dues. The committee was asked to send the matter to the Sindh Cabinet.
Sardar Ahmed directed the finance department to prepare its budget for submission before the Sindh Cabinet. He asked the works and services department, Board of Revenue, industries, labour and transport departments to finalize their related issues and send to the Commission by Aug 31 for onward submission to the Sindh Cabinet.
The meeting was attended by Tariq Amin, Shunaid Qureshi, S.F. Hussain, Zahid Hussain, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Ghulam Sarwar Khehro, senior officials Ghulam Nabi, Kaleem Makki and Murli Manohar. -APP
