KARACHI, Aug 2: The chief minister called on the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional), Pir Pagara, at his residence, Kingri House. Pir Pagara congratulated Dr Rahim for performing Umra , while the chief minister presented him Aab-i-zamzam and dates.

The chief minister also attended a luncheon hosted by Pir Pagara. Later, talking to media, Dr Rahim said he held talks with Pir Pagara on different issues and apprised him of the election campaign in Tharparkar.

Mr Rahim said President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had directed him to meet Pir Pagara for settlement of differences, which Pir Pagara had pledged to consider. Dr Rahim said the country needed the leadership and guidance of Pir Pagara, and under his guidance, the Sindh government would continue to serve the people.

DARUL AMAAN: The chief minister has also taken serious notice of the escape of seven women from Darul Amaan, Hyderabad. He directed the chairman of the Chief Minister's Inspection Team to submit report within seven days on the issue. -PPI
