ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: The federal government and model institutions functioning under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) have shown marvellous results in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) exams conducted by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The success ratio of the FDE institutions was 77.17 per cent, much higher than the previous years. Islamabad model colleges recorded the highest pass percentage of 94.17 per cent, which is better than many other systems providing higher secondary level education.
By securing seven top slots out of the 15 in different groups, the educational institutions under the FDE have shown unprecedented results in the HSSC examinations. Farwah Ahmad, a student of F.G. College for Women, F-7/2, secured overall second position in the examinations conducted by the FBISE.
All the top three positions in humanities and the first as well as the third position in commerce group were also bagged by the FDE colleges. Similarly, three students of F.G. College for Women, F-7/2, - Sundus Sharif, Hasina Khan and Sundus - have secured the top three positions in humanities, while Junaid Ahmad Siddiqui and Sheraz Ashraf Bajwa of F.G. Commerce College, H-8/4, bagged first and third position, respectively, in the commerce group.
Saira Zahid of Islamabad Model College for Girls, F-10/2, stood second among girls in the pre-engineering group, while Haider Ali of F.G. College for Men, H-9, stood third among boys in humanities. The FDE also ensured an adequate increase (18 per cent) in enrolment of students appearing in the HSSC examinations. -APP
