KARACHI, July 28: In order to make the government departments paperless, the entire Sindh secretariat would be computerized in the next few months.
This was stated by Sindh Minister for Information Technology Mustafa Kamal on the occasion of signing agreement between the IT Department Sindh and the Icon Technologies here on Wednesday.
Mustafa Kamal said that by taking advantage of the information technology we should provide more facilities to people. He stated that under the project, the problems of the people would be resolved and through computers, the people would be able to acquire the required information within minutes.
The minister said that the IT department would also initiate a system of video-conferencing. The common man would be provided with all sorts of information regarding the performance of the government departments and organizations.
He informed that under the e-government pilot project, special projects would be taken up. In the beginning, the departments at the New Sindh Secretariat, Tughlaq House and Old KDA Building would be computerized and they would be connected through a process of networking. Thus these departments would also be able to share data online. These projects would be completed in one year's time. -APP
