ISLAMABAD, July 27: Kashif Khan and Majeed Hussain, playing in the under-19 category, qualified for the main round of the Hashim Khan National junior squash championship on Tuesday brushing aside their rivals at the Roshan Khan Complex.

Majeed knocked out Fahim Gul 9-6, 9-6, 9-5 while Kashif defeated Ahmed Jilani 9-0, 9-2, 10-9 in well-fought matches. Two other players who also booked their berths in the main draw were Asim Shehzad and Rehmanullah.

Asim was a 9-0, 9-3, 9-6 winner against Kashif Khan and Rehmanullah downed M. Waseem 9-0, 9-7, 9-5.

Under-13: Bilal Zakir beat Zarak Khan 9-3, 9-10, 9-5, 9-1; Tariq Khan beat Junaidur Rehman 9-2, 9-2, 9-1; Nasir Iqbal beat Nematullah 9-0, 9-1, 9-4; Asif Mehmood beat Khalid Khan 9-6, 9-6, 4-9, 9-10, 10-9.

Under-15: M. Saqib beat Jawad Norani 9-0, 9-5, 9-3; M. Bilal beat Amir Habib 9-3, 9-0, 9-5; Naveed Khan beat Rameez Khan 9-2, 9-0, 9-0; M. Zubair Khan beat Usman Anwar 9-5, 9-1, 9-3.

Under-17: Riaz Ali beat Khalid Khan 2-9, 8-9, 9-6, 9-7, 9-4; Hamza Ahmed beat Danish Yaqoob 9-6, 9-7, 9-3; Naveed Alam beat Naveed Khan 9-2, 9-0, 9-0; Zohaib Ahmed beat Arshad Shafi 9-6, 2-9, 9-2, 9-0.
