LAHORE, July 12: Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) current campaign to acquire foreigners for the national squad took a further step with the hiring of Darryn Lifson as the physiotherapist.

Lifson, a South African, replaces Dr Riaz Ahmed in the Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup. He has been hired on the recommendation of Bob Woolmer, the Pakistan coach. Woolmer was also responsible for bringing in Murray Stevenson as the trainer.

Lifson, who is the sixth foreign appointment made by the PCB hierarchy, thus joins Woolmer, Stevenson, batting consultants Barry Richards, Greg Chappell and bowling coach Daryl Foster.

Dr Riaz had been attached with the Pakistan team for the last four years.
