KARACHI, July 12: The Sindh cabinet was further expanded on Monday with the induction of four new ministers, raising the strength of the cabinet to 18. Seven more advisers to the chief minister have also been inducted.

The new ministers, Dr Hameeda Khuhro, Dr Saeeda Malik, Dr Sohrab Sarki and Syed Ali Bux Shah alias Pappu Shah, were administered oath at a ceremony at the Governor's House here on Monday night.

Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad administered the oath. Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim was also present. Later, talking to newsmen, Dr Arbab said that another three ministers could be inducted in the cabinet.

PORTFOLIOS: The Sindh government announced portfolios of the new ministers late on Monday. The ministers and their portfolios are: Dr Hameeda Khuhro: Education; Dr Saeeda Malik: Women Development and Social Welfare; Syed Ali Bakhsh Shah alias Pappu Shah: Population Welfare; and Dr Sohrab Sarki: Inter-provincial Coordination.

ADVISERS: In another announcement, the Sindh government announced names of seven new advisers to the chief minister. The advisers with the status of minister are: Waseem Akhtar (Local Government), Nauman Sehgal (Environment and Alternate Energy) and M. A. Jalil (Excise and Taxation).

The other advisers are: Syed Manzoor Hasan, Mumtaz Hameed, Sultan Ahmed Khuhawar and Mushtaq Rahu. -APP
