The Israeli army plans to issue magnetic cards to control the comings and goings of the 6,000 Palestinian residents of the southern Gaza Strip coastal enclave of Mawasi, a Palestinian security official said.

“The Israeli army has informed the inhabitants of Mawasi that it is going to distribute magnetic cards, without which they will not be able to exit” the enclave, whose entrances are controlled by Israeli soldiers, said Colonel Khaled Abu Ula.—AFP
