KARACHI, June 8: Pakistan's No.5 Imran Shehzad's winning streak came to an end, when he was beaten by the world champion Pankaj Advani the Indian teenager 4-2 in the 20th Asian snooker championship held in Aqaba (Jordan).
After gaining this third success when he beat the host nation's Mohammad Tani 4-1. Imran went down 113/8, 75/1, 6/72, 30/67, 66/59, 54/50, unlucky to lose the last two frames on the black ball.
Mohammad Yousuf however won all his three matches, routing Mohammad Hamid from Sri Lanka 4-0, 59/32, 69/32, 98/8, 65/23. In the second match Yousuf beat Ali Abid Mohsein 4-2, 16/65, 61/39, 32/73, 57/49, 68/45, 65/20, then squeezed through a 4-3 winner over Hong Kong's Cheng Chi Lin 4-3, after staring defeat in the face trailing 1-3. Yousuf finally won 0/91, 87/22, 14/57, 2/82, 46/32, 70/27, 69/33.
