ISLAMABAD, May 20: As many as 17 teams will compete in the 3rd All- Pakistan Kashmir Cup basketball tournament starting at FF Centre, Abbottabad, from May 24. The tournament is being organized by Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation, according to its secretary, Nasim Butt.

A foreign team will also be invited to play Pakistan in December as part of national team's preparations for the Islamic Games to be held in Saudi Arabia in April next year, he said adding that the probables for a final team to play Islamic Games would be selected from the best performers in Kashmir Cup.

Teams from Army, Navy, PAF, Railways, Police, Higher Education Commission, POF Wah, Wapda, HBL, Rangers, KESC, provincial associations, Islamabad and Fata will participate in the Kashmir Cup, whose draws will be held at FF Centre, Abbottabad at 6.00 pm on May 23.

Butt said that the PABBF would this year organize Air Marshal Mushaf Ali Mir basketball championship, Karachi tournament, National championship and Sher Muhammad Amin championship in addition to national camp at Islamabad in December. -APP
