KARACHI, May 20: Five ships carrying containers and rock phosphate and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active as over a dozen ships were berthed and sailed out, while four others including Oriental Pheonix, with 160 vehicles were due to arrive late on Monday evening.

The ships, which were berthed included Bunga Masempth, Winco Feeder, PONL Everest to unload and load containers, Bow Princess to offload chemicals, W.S.Berber and Huayan-5 to unload oil and palm oil after the departure of seven.

The departing ships were led by Jamila, Swat, Sima Roja, Sinar Batam, Bunga Masempth, Sea Stream and Bow Princess, while W.S. Berber, Huayan-5, Winco Feeder, Kota Selam and PONL Everest are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 69,136 tons comprising 2,160 tons of export cargo, and 66,976 tons of import tonnage, mostly oil was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Apnia, to load molasses, Bombay Star, Kota Teraju and Saf Marine Tana, to unload and load containers, and Agios Nikolaos, with rock phosphate.
