KARACHI, March 4: Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkil Kazi has called upon the society, especially the social workers, to work for creation of an environment conducive for national unity and brotherhood in the light of religious teachings.

He was talking to a representative delegation of the citizens at his office on Thursday. Mr Kazi had convened the meeting to thank them for their role in promoting religious and national harmony during Ashura days.

The delegation appreciated the traffic arrangements during Ashura days on city's busy roads. They suggested that such arrangements should continue on permanent basis.

The delegation members invited attention of the chief secretary towards reconstruction of 9-Km-long roads from Korangi to Qayyumabad (Hino Chowk) and Qayyumabad to Kalapul, continuing for the last three years, causing great inconvenience to more than 2.5 million population of Landhi and Korangi, besides wastage of their time.

They also complained about the attitude of a revenue officials in connection with the issuance of PRC and domicile in Landhi, Lyari, Liaquatabad and SITE towns. They also demanded a ban on playing of vulgar film songs in passenger vehicles. -APP
