KARACHI, Feb. 29: The administrative committee constituted by Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad to review the ongoing arrangements for the one-day cricket match between India and Pakistan at the National Stadium , took a number of decisions in its meeting here on Sunday.
The meeting chaired by DCO Mir Hussain Ali besides setting up various subcommittees to ensure fool proof arrangements reviewed measures to ensure that no chaos is created and mismanagement experienced with regard to accessibility of tickets to people.
The committee was informed that tickets are being issued to some 28,000 spectators and about 7,000 tickets have already been sold online while the remaining 21,000 will be put on sale from March 6, details of which will be announced in newspapers.
With regard to safety and security arrangements, the committee decided that spectators would not be allowed to take along with them edible items to the stands nor would these be available through hawkers.
The meeting formed playground, reception and protocol, medical and traffic subcommittees to provide maximum facilities to the fans, players and organizers. The meeting took decision to beautify the stadium and offer a befitting welcome to the two teams. It was decided that DIG-Traffic, Mohammad Yamin Khan would supervise traffic arrangements. He would be assisted by D.O Charged Parking.
Cleanliness of the stadium and drinking water facilities would be looked after by Matanat Ali Khan, TMO-Gulshan-i-Iqbal under the supervision of Gulshan Town Nazim, Abdul Wahab.
To meet any emergency situation and provide medical support, a team headed by EDO-Health, Dr Fazal Illahi was also constituted. The meeting was attended by DIG Traffic, Yameen Khan, EDO-Works, Shoaib Siddiqui, EDO-Revenue, Mohammad Waseem, EDO-Coordination, Mukarram Sultan Bukhari, Dr Mohammad Ali Shah, EDO-Health, Dr Fazal Illahi, secretary RTA, Mohammad Shamim, TPO Gulshan-i- Iqbal and other senior officials. - APP
