ISLAMABAD, Feb 25: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has developed 'VERISYS' an online verification system to enable financial institutions to establish their customer's identity through web as well as dial-up.
This was stated by Chairman, Nadra, Brig (Retd) Saleem Ahmed Moeen in a briefing to Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan here on Wednesday. "Verisys is helpful for financial institutions like banks, leasing companies, credit rating and government agencies that have to validate the status of their customer," he said.
Mr Moeen also informed the minister about the idea of online testing of candidates for jobs which was opted by NADRA for the recruitment of appropriate human resources in a fair and transparent manner through the optimum use of technology in which more than 5,000 candidates appeared for different posts.
The online test has advantages of fairness and fulfilling objectives of transparency with remote chances of any foul play in recruitment process. The results of the test have proved that the selection procedure was appropriate and greatly helped in selecting suitable candidates, he said.
The commerce minister met the chairman of the authority in the latter's office and visited the different sections of the outfit. "Nadra is doing well in collecting and maintaining authentic database of citizens of Pakistan. This database will be highly helpful in eradicating crime and will also help the government departments to counter check the information given by individual," he added.
