ISLAMABAD, Feb 1: US Secretary of State Colin Powell has said the people of Pakistan and the US have made joint efforts to rid the world of oppression and terror for the sake of peace and freedom.

The Foreign Office said on Sunday that on the eve of Eidul Azha, Mr Powell in a message to Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri has conveyed best wishes to the people of Pakistan.

"The message recalls the sacrifices that Pakistan and the US have made in their joint efforts to rid the world of oppression and terror so that the people could live in peace and freedom," the statement said.-PPI
