PESHAWAR: Two water schemes inaugurated

PESHAWAR, Feb 1: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Ali Mohammad Jan Orakzai inaugurated two water supply schemes at Wole and Anargai villages in Mohmand Agency on Sunday.

The corps commander, while inaugurating the water schemes, said that priority was accorded to infrastructure development, education, health and water supply schemes. The development projects initiated by the Pakistan Army were meticulously planned and would alleviate the sufferings of the tribesmen to a great extent, he added.

According to an ISPR press release, the Wole water supply scheme would provide drinking water to a population of around 2,000 people of Bar Badokhel and Kuz Badokhel villages, whereas the Anargai scheme would provide water to around 2,500 people of Anargai and surrounding villages.

The corps commander also inaugurated a 16km-long Shandara- Jarobi-Illazai road that would link the northern parts of Mohmand Agency with the southern parts.

Later, Mr Orakzai visited a battalion of the Army deployed in the Mohmand Agency. Speaking to the troops, he lauded their role in securing borders of the country and carrying out development works in Fata.
