HYDERABAD, Jan 23: Opening of the Khokhrapar route will increase the influx of aliens into the country and law-enforcement agencies will not be able to prevent it.

This was stated by the chairman of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party, Dr Qadir Magsi, who was talking to various delegations which called on him here on Friday.

He said the law enforcement agencies had failed to check the entry of 3.5 million outsiders including Bangladeshis, Burmese, Biharis, Afghanis, Indians and the people of Central Asia who were now controlling the business and employment of Sindh.

He criticised the statements of MQM ministers and advisers that the opening of Khokhrapar route would have a salutary affect on the economy of the country.Mr Magsi said the party had made an alliance with the establishment for the sake of power and it was maintaining a silence on the basic issues of Sindh. He said the MQM was only paying lip service against the feudal system but in fact it was in league with them.

SPSF: Sindh People's Students Federation activists staged a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club on Friday against the imprisonment of Asif Ali Zardari and forced exile of People's Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

Speaking on the occasion, Lala Nawab Soomro, Rizwan Ali Mughal, Kashif Chandio and others said Asif Zardari has been languishing in jail for the last seven years although not a single case had been proved against him.

They said at this critical juncture, Pakistan direly needed the presence of Ms Bhutto to liberate the country from deepening crisis. They demanded that Asif Zardari should be set free and Ms Bhutto be allowed to return to Pakistan.
