LAHORE, Jan 21: JI amir Qazi Husain Ahmad says the 'threats and charges' facing Pakistan and enlisted by Gen Musharraf in his first address to parliament were the outcome of government's policy to become a 'frontline state' in war on terrorism.
"We are standing in the court of America like an accused and are being forced to accomplish the tasks which are against our national interests and dignity," he told participants of the annual congregation of the Islami Jamiat Talibat here on Wednesday.
He said in an effort to appease President Bush "we are humiliating our heroes, raiding religious schools and excluding Quranic verses from syllabus besides leaving the Kashmiris at the mercy of Indian army."
He said attempts had been made to bracket Muslims with terrorism long before the 9/11 incidents. However, in the post-9/11 scenario the Western media had launched a campaign against Muslims.
