MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 12: An AJK Ehtesab Court sentenced on Monday a former accountant of the Non-Gazetted Employees Welfare Fund Trust to rigorous imprisonment of five years each in two corruption cases besides imposing a fine of Rs1.05 million on him.
The accused, Azam Durrani, who was on bail had plundered the trust's money of equal amount by opening a fake account in his name. Failing to pay the fine, the accused would have to undergo a further imprisonment of one year, Ehtesab Court Judge Malik Abdul Rashid held. Following the judgment, the police arrested the accused from the court premises.
