KARACHI, Jan 9: Five ships carrying base oil, general cargo and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was slow owing to delayed arrivals of the foreign vessels. As a result, only one ship, Kota Intan to unload and load containers was berthed after the departure of five.
The ships, which departed included Qataral Fuja-A, Norasia Sindh, Hyundai Advance, Keefan and Johar, while Nord Beach, Kota Intan, Eax Sanctity and Chemstar Prince are due to sail out on Saturday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves light as the total tonnage handled fell to 32,857 tons comprising 18,107 tons of export cargo and 14,750 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Emirate Peace, with 2,064 tons of base oil, Delmas Mauritius, Global Progress, Global Price, with containers and Islamabad, with general cargo.
