KARACHI, Jan 6: Centuries by Faisal Iqbal and Asif Mujtaba enabled PIA pile up 353 for six on the second day of the Patron's Trophy Pool 'A' match at Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Park on Tuesday.

Faisal, the 22-year-old Test right-hander, made 125 - his second century this season - while the 36-year-old Asif Mujtaba, the PIA skipper, also notched up his second century in the current championship as he contributed 126.

After night-watchman Najaf Shah had been run out to leave PIA struggling at 36 for three in response to 203 scored by Bangladesh 'A', Faisal and Asif shared a partnership of 221 in 225 minutes. The pair added exactly 100 in the afternoon session without being separated.

Faisal fell to medium-pacer Alamgir Kabir after hitting 15 boundaries in his 280-minute knock while negotiating 160 balls. Asif, the former Test left-hander, continued to enjoy the ordinary bowling by putting on 72 in 81 minutes for the fifth wicket with Mahmood Hamid. Having reached his 46th hundred in first-class cricket, Asif departed when he edged a catch to wicket-keeper Anwar Hossain as he attempted to cut off-spinner Jamaluddin Babu.

Asif's 247-ball innings lasted 337 minutes and included 15 fours. Mahmood was still at the crease with 54, including eight hits to the fence.
