ISLAMABAD, Jan 1: The tax authorities on Thursday claimed to have surpassed the revenue target by Rs5.8 billion set for the first six months (July-December) period of the current financial year.
Central Board of Revenue (CBR) official spokesman, Vakil Ahmed Khan told reporters here on Thursday that revenue collection during the period under review stood at Rs223.9 billion against the target of Rs218.1 billion set for the same period this year, showing an increase of 2.65 per cent over the target.
The spokesman said that the collection of Rs223.9 billion collected during the first half of the current financial year registered a growth of 11 per cent when compared with the last year collection of Rs201.4 billion during the same period.
