RAWALPINDI, Aug 30: The Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, on Friday issued a notice to brick-kiln owners accused of harassing labourers.
The petitioner, Zubaida Bibi, submitted a writ petition with the LHC, Rawalpindi bench, in which she stated that her son, Liaquat Ali, was murdered by the Munshi of Malik Ulfat and Malik Jehangir who owned a brick kiln in Shamkai Bhatian, Lahore.
She stated that her whole family was illegally confined and was recovered by the bailiff of the LHC. She stated that after being released from illegal confinement, she and her family moved to Rawalpindi and started working in the brick kilns of Raja Aslam.
A few days ago, the petitioner contended that two policemen from police station Hinjrawal, Lahore, took away her husband and a relative. She said she neither knew their whereabouts nor the reason behind their arrest.
The petitioner, however, expressed her apprehension that the policemen were acting on the behest of Malik Ulfat and Malik Jehangir of Shamkai Bhatian.
She said she had brought the matter in the notice of SSP Rawalpindi and DCO Rawalpindi but to no avail.
Notice was issued to the owners of the brick kiln of Shamkai Bhatian in which they were asked to appear before the court on September 16.
