RAWALPINDI, May 13: The government has failed to respond to the Punjab schoolteachers’ boycott of classes which continued for the fourth consecutive day on Monday.

“The government is forcing us to take to the roads. Today is the fourth day of the boycott, but it has been showing complete indifference,” the Rawalpindi district president of the Punjab Teachers Union said.

The rulers, he said, were legislating for a raise in their own salaries, but did not bother to alleviate the sufferings of the teachers.

The boycott is unanimous and will continue till the government breaks its silence and responds to our problems, he added.
