KARACHI, Oct 17: Ten ships including to wheat carriers with 75,000 tons of the commodity are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Yangtze River with 40,361 tons of wheat arrived on Friday. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where half a dozen ships, APL Cairo, Calvin P. Titus, Saigon Express to unload and load containers, Alpha and Oxl Blue Sea, to unload and load general cargo, Yin Gui to unload oil, were accommodated berths.
Sailing was also active as seven ships, Aqua Star, Cap Colorado, Samsun Pioneer, Mariann, Northern Harmony, Industrial Dream and APL Cairo departed on Friday, while Alpha, Karina Danica, Oxl Blue Sea, Saigon Express, Sea Bridge, You Liang and Cemrem are due to sail out on Saturday.
A total tonnage of 77,103 tons comprising 36,562 tons of export cargo, notably cement and 40,541 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Grego, Tan An Hai with 35,113 and 39,888 tons of imported wheat, Al-Farabi to load 22,500 tons of molasses, Chemroad Rose to load 11,000 tons of ethanol, Harmony with containers, Neptune Ace with packages, Sari to load cement, Bohai Challenge, Nicetec with general cargo and Malika Naree with general goods.
