Two cops among victims of dacoits

SAHIWAL, Oct 12: Armed dacoits reportedly deprived several people, including two police inspectors, of cash and valuables on Saturday.

In Faridiya Park dacoits intercepted an Inspector Hafiz Basit and snatched Rs4,000 and a cell phone from him at gunpoint. Three dacoits deprived a traffic police inspector, Khalid Mahmood, of his unregistered motorcycle, Rs2,000 and a cell phone and fled away.

As many as 14 bandits barged in the house of a cattle trader, Muhammad Shahbaz, at Chak 87/9-L and locked the family members in a room before loading 10 buffalos on two trucks and fled while firing in the air. As many as eight dacoits entered the house of one Rehmat Bibi at Chak 65/5-L and took away Rs30,000, jewellery worth Rs100,000 and other valuables at gunpoint.

Similarly, three criminals looted Rs50,000 at gunpoint from a widow, Hajan Fateh Bibi, at Chak 85/6-R and escaped.—APP
