ISLAMABAD, Sept 12: The Leader of the House in the Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani, has condemned incursions by US troops into the Pakistani territory.
Talking to Dawn in his parliament house chamber, Mr Rabbani also criticised the remarks made by certain US military officials that they would take action inside Pakistan.
He said Pakistan being a sovereign country would never compromise on its sovereignty.
The right of hot pursuit had been rejected by Pakistan because it was in violation of international norms and law, Mr Rabbani said.
He said the people of Pakistan would defend every inch of their soil and those who talked about widening the area of operation in Fata must draw a lesson from history and recall the resistance put up by the people of Vietnam in defence of their country.
Meanwhile, JUI-F’s chief whip Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri called upon the government to act against foreign aggression and stop providing intelligence and logistic support to coalition troops in Afghanistan. He welcomed Gen Ashfaq Parvaiz Kayani’s statement and termed it a voice of the entire nation.
Talking to reporters at the parliament house, he said it was the responsibility of Pakistani troops to repel any aggression with full force. He said the US and its allies were intruding into the Pakistan territory and killing innocent people.
