Ex-AL leader shot dead

NAWABSHAH, May 7: Shoaib Hamidi, 70, former vice president of the Awami League, West Pakistan, was murdered by six armed persons in Deh 40, Nusrat, near Ali Murad Shahani village, Jam Saheb, on Tuesday morning.

The six armed persons, including Rizwan Brohi, Manzoor Brohi, Subhan Brohi, Murad Brohi and two unidentified, barged into the house of Shoaib Hamidi and shot him dead with Kalashnikov and pistol, and injured his son, Jibran, 15.

Farhan Hamidi, elder son of the deceased, lodged an FIR against the accused at the Jam Saheb police station.

He also worked in the Awami National Party and was colleague of G.M. Syed, Abdul Samad Achakzai, Wali Khan and Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.
