ISLAMABAD, May 6: A three-member Turkish delegation is arriving here on Tuesday to hold negotiations on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters.
The delegation, led by Turkish undersecretary of customs, Dr Navzet Saygilioglu, will hold talks with senior officials of the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) from May 7 to 10.
Official sources told Dawn that the agreement aimed to establish cooperation between the two countries with a view to facilitate trade, exchange of information, intelligence and documents, understanding of customs procedures, better enforcement of customs laws and fight against illicit traffic.
It may be mentioned that both Pakistan and Turkey are signatories to the Nairobi Convention, which aims at mutual administrative assistance among the customs administrations around the world.
