SANGHAR, May 6: The Sanghar police have asked Sindh police authorities to announce over Rs10 million head money for 28 bandits, DPO Ghulam Qadir Thebo told newsmen here the other day.

He said that a strategy had been devised to eliminate bandits in the district and the proposal of the head money was part of this strategy.

The 28 bandits are Yousuf Mari, for whom Rs1.5 million head money has been recommended; Mehmood, Rs500,000; Khadim Rind, Rs200,000; Fida Mirjat, Rs300,000; Gulzar Magsi, Rs200,000; Mohammad Bukhsh Machhi, Rs200,000; Mahram Talpur, Rs200,000; Ghulam Shabbir Khaskheli, Rs200,000; Shoukat Lail, Rs500,000; Abdul Ghafoor, Rs500,000; Maqsood Machhi, Rs200,000; Amir Din alias Amroo Kaloi, Rs500,000; Ali Khoso, Rs500,000; Azeem Channar, Rs200,000; Arshad Kaloi, Rs200,000; Maqsood Brohi and Maqsood Brohi, Rs1.5 million; Majid Brohi, Rs1 million; Moula Bukhsh Khaskheli, Rs200,000; Wazir Khaskheli, Rs200,000; Akbar alias Akoo, Rs200,000, Mumtaz Mari, Rs1 million; Ghulam Hussain Machhi, Rs200,000; Manthar Shar, Rs200,000; Ather Mari, Rs200,000; Ali Sher Mari, Rs200,000; Mithal Magsi, Rs200,000; Ali Hussain Rind, Rs200,000; and Rizwan alias Razoo Khoso, Rs200,000.

The DPO said that police mobiles and communication system would be provided to police for combating the bandits in the district.

LOOTED: A wedding party was looted by a gang of over a dozen bandits on Sanghar-Mirpurkhas road, about 7km from here the other day.

The bridegroom Ashok came from Khipro to Sanghar alongwith the marriage party. After his marriage ceremony, the wedding party was going back alongwith the bride in pickups, cars and a bus.

When it reached near the Machine stop, a group of more than 12 heavily armed bandits, who had parked a truck on the road to block it, stopped the wedding party and looted its members.

FUNDS: An emergency meeting of Taluka Council Shahdadpur has passed a resolution against the alleged interference and blocking of development funds by the district government.
