KARACHI, June 7: Nine ships carrying containers, raw jute and to load cement and clinker are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where eight ships, Mediteranean Carrier and Superior Pescadores to load cement, Eric G.Gibson, Hanjin Chittagong, King Brian and Bavaria Express to unload and load containers, Merbabu and Keoyoung Prince, to unload oil, were accommodated berths.
Sailing was also active as six vessels APL Dalian, MOL Affinity, Kota Puri, Global Progress, Lalazar and Pacific Arrow departed, while Johar, Eric G. Gibson, Creek, Bavaria Express, Hanjin Chittagong, Keoyoung Prince, Merbau, Chitral and King Brian are due to sail out on Sunday.
A total tonnage of 123,000 tons comprising 27,494 tons of export and 95,517 tons of import cargo was handled on Saturday.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Banglar Mamata with raw jute, Sea Princess to load 17,000 tons of cement and Bravo-P to load 27,000 tons of clinker, Ataqa with 14,900 tons of phosphate, St. Irene, Lucky Man, Mitra Bhum, Global Prosperity and APL Tulip with containers.
